MOLDING CHARACTER
In
many ways our lives are like a potter and his clay. Just as the choices a
potter makes determines what the clay will become, the choices we make -
good or bad - determine the shape of our lives. Just as the potter can
reshape the clay if the vessel doesn't turn out the way he wants it, if we
make a mistake we, too, can reshape our lives.
To make a good vessel the clay must first be centered on the wheel. Likewise we must center our lives on good choices in order to have a good life.
Just as a pot needs a good foundation, we also need a good foundation built on Responsibility, Integrity & Self-control.
A good foundation is necessary to withstand the pressure as the walls are brought up. We, too, have inside and outside pressure.
To make the vase, clay must be trimmed away. Likewise, we may have to cut away activities or people who keep us from being who we should be.
What happens when the clay isn't centered or there is no foundation. Wrong choices can make our lives look like this. This clay will not be discarded. One of the vases was made from clay that messed up. The clay was reclaimed. Can you tell which one?
To make a good vessel the clay must first be centered on the wheel. Likewise we must center our lives on good choices in order to have a good life.
